Geoff Cripps


Geoff Cripps was born in Pontllanfraith in the Sirhowy Valley and educated at Pontllanfraith Grammar Technical School, University College of Swansea and UWIST Cardiff.
His career has included working at Garden Festival Wales as Community Liaison Officer, Fundraising Co-ordinator for Actionaid Wales & West Midlands, becoming the first Arts Development Officer for Blaenau Gwent County Borough, the first development director for Trac – the folk development agency for Wales and, from October 2003 until June 2014, the first Artistic Director for Rhondda Cynon Taf Theatres.
Geoff has a life-long interest in music, organising folk clubs, folk festivals and being producer -presenter of BBC Radio Wales first specialist music programme “Folk On Monday” in the 1980s. Geoff performs and records with Allan Yn Y Fan.
Geoff is also currently a board member for Creu Cymru and the Borough Theatre Abergavenny.
