Jamie Rees

Jamie began his career in arts marketing at the New Theatre, Cardiff in 2002 and has since worked in many of Cardiff’s major arts venues including the Sherman Theatre, Wales Millennium Centre, Chapter and St David’s Hall. Outside of Wales Jamie has worked with Birmingham Hippodrome as Marketing Manager and outside of the arts as a marketing consultant for online marketing company UrbanTraffic and Cardiff Pride.

Jamie has also worked as a freelance arts journalist. From November 2009 to July 2012 he had his own column in Cardiff Life Magazine and he has written for the Western Mail, South Wales Echo and Buzz Magazine. His public speaking appearances have included The Wales National Conference on Homophobia and the UK Holocaust Memorial Concert at Wales Millennium Centre in 2006.

More recently Jamie was Senior Marketing Manager at the Torch Theatre in Milford Haven which also saw him perform in a one man show for the company about the life of Carry On Star Charles Hawtrey. The show performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2015 and 2016 to sell out audiences, receiving Laurel Awards for two years running. After four years at the Torch Theatre Jamie became Director of Marketing & Audience Development for Chapter Arts Centre where his remit was to introduce new audiences to contemporary arts.

Jamie currently runs his own marketing and PR agency, JRC, and is proud to be a Board member at Theatr na nÓg.
