Barnaby is a professional musician with over 10 years experience in the Music, Film and Theatre industry. His work ranges from Performing, Arranging, Conducting and Musically Directing to Teaching, Producing and Composing. Recent successes include recording on the soundtrack for Nina Gantz's BAFTA Award winning film 'Edmond,' arranging and recording Grammy Award winning songwriter Amy Wadge's music for 'The Eye of The Storm,' and a 2 year West End appearance in Jamie Lloyd's 'The Commitments' in which Barnaby originated the role of James Clifford.

Barnaby studied classical piano from an early age in his home city of Oxford. His great uncle, Herbert Sumsion, was a renowned English composer and as such Barnaby grew up in a musical environment drawing greatly from his Grandmother's experience as a classical violinist and his father's experience as a lounge/jazz pianist. Barnaby later went on to train as an Actor at The Oxford School of Drama, before studying Actor Musicianship at Rose Bruford College.
