'Breeding Boxers on the Breadline'
In the deprived valleys of the 1930s, boxing was more than just a sport; it was a way out of poverty. Merthyr-born Cuthbert Taylor, now seen as one of the best boxers of his generation, should have had the opportunity to fight for a British title, but was denied this chance because of the colour of his skin.

Be a part of our Autumn project and one of the many schools we work with to support the delivery of the Curriculum for Wales in a creative and fun way. This is our 35th year creating unique, high quality theatre for schools, currently in partnership with Swansea Museum, the National Waterfront Museum and Technocamps. Developing and supporting young people to be ethical, informed citizens of Wales and the World.

National Waterfront Museum's workshop:
Step back in time and discover what life was like in 1920s industrial Wales.
Your workshop will explore: medicine before the NHS, life in the coal pit, sport and more through objects and activities that bring the past to life!
Secondary schools:

Brecon

How much does it cost?
We receive funding from Arts Council Wales and a number of Trusts and Foundations towards this project.
We will use this funding to provide a heavily subsidised cost to you, reducing it to £9+VAT per pupil / adult plus one free adult ticket with every 10 pupils.
As a condition of this funding we need to collect feedback from every participant of this project.
To receive this reduced cost, we ask for three things in return:
1. You sign your booking contract which will be emailed to you within 7 days of receipt.
2. Complete a simple online survey within 10 days following your visit.
3. Pay your invoice within 30 days after your visit.
You will be sent reminders, so don’t worry about forgetting. Any schools not adhering to these conditions will be charged the full cost of £12.50 + VAT per person.

Give us your feedback
We highly recommend one teacher from your school attends this to get the most out of your trip. For schools from further afield, we will be holding an online talk this year, but this will not include the performance.
You can let us know if you can come to this on the booking form, but we will send out reminders!
