Tonya grew up in the Gower, Swansea, and trained at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Over the years Tonya has worked extensively within the industry as an actress, voice over artist, acting coach, director, and casting director in both English and Welsh.
Her Theatrical highlights include: The Girl with the Incredibly Long Hair (We Made This), Our Country’s Good (Watermill, Newbury), The Crucible (Theatr Genedlaethol), White Feather (Theatr na nÓg), Silas Marner (Theatr Clwyd), The Three Night Blitz (Swansea Grand), The Ghost of Morfa Colleriery (Theatr na nÓg), Cancer Time (Theatre 503), and the title role of Anne Frank (New Vic, Stoke).

She is best known in Wales as regular character Yvonne Evans in Pobol y Cwm.
