“when clouds fill up the sky and the rain falls on you…I won’t mind, at least I feel alive’
A new musical play which will seize your heart and capture your mind. With original songs written by Grammy Award Winner Amy Wadge (Thinking Out Loud with Ed Sheeran) we follow the story of Emmie who is torn between following her dreams of being a scientist and caring for her mother.
Set in the Welsh valleys to a country folk sound track, Emmie must decide between pursuing her passion for science and fascination with tornados, and her duty as a young carer devoted to her mother. With a bursary to study in America up for grabs Emmie must fight to keep her place on her course and win the STEM competition with her invention for renewable energy.
This inspiring story features a live band on stage made up of a cast of 8 talented actor musicians.
A theatrical event of courage, determination and compassion, guaranteed to enthral and inspire young people and their families.
Our award-winning musical play for families, Eye of the Storm, was invited to be part of the SPARK Festival at the Tai Kwun Centre for Heritage and Arts in Hong Kong.
SPARK: The Science and Art of Creativity – Hong Kong’s first Festival of Ideas celebrating creativity across the arts, sciences and education – attracted over 14,000 visitors to Tai Kwun Centre for Heritage and Arts from 18-20 January 2019. A place for debate, inspiration and visionary thinking, the inaugural festival organised by the British Council was packed with interactive experiences, provocative performances and stimulating talks.
SPARK brought together over 200 artists, scientists and academics from Hong Kong and the UK from over 50 arts and education organisations presenting 37 events in a vibrant platform for cultural exchange. A Schools’ Outreach programme ran alongside the main events and best of all, it was all FREE!
